Justice Patch is a nonprofit, nonpartisan Chinese-language news website based in San Francisco. We produce original local news and commentary for the Chinese American community in San Francisco and for the broader Chinese immigrant communities across California.
Our content is drawn primarily from two WeChat public accounts: “Bay Area Civic News” (“湾事记”), our channel focused on delivering local news and community resources to the Chinese American community in San Francisco, and “Chinese American Chats” (“美国华人杂谈”), which uses news reporting and in-depth commentary to share the California Chinese community’s reflections and voices on current events, politics, immigrant rights, and social justice. Through this account, we also share firsthand immigration news and updates, organize events and community gatherings, and tell the stories of contemporary Chinese American immigrants and Asian American history.
However, while our content draws primarily from these two platforms, Justice Patch, as an independent, San Francisco–run website, plays an important role in providing uncensored content — including content that is often banned or removed on WeChat.
Justice Patch is managed by the Chinese Digital Engagement (CDE) team at Chinese for Affirmative Action (CAA), a nonprofit organization based in California. Our team is led by Chinese journalists and media professionals, and we work with a network of independent Chinese-language writers, fact-checkers, and data scientists.
Chinese for Affirmative Action (CAA) was founded in 1969 to protect the civil and political rights of Chinese Americans and to advance multiracial democracy in the United States. Today, CAA represents and amplifies progressive voices within the broader Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) community — advocating for immigrant rights, economic justice, and language diversity, and working to correct racial and social inequities in order to protect the long-term interests of Chinese Americans and other AAPI communities. CAA is also a founding member of Stop AAPI Hate.
To better serve our community and to counter misinformation and far-right propaganda circulating on Chinese-language platforms such as WeChat, CAA launched its Chinese Digital Engagement (CDE) team in late 2019. In 2020, CDE launched a series of WeChat public accounts, and in August 2021, it launched the Justice Patch website. Our goal is not only to deliver accurate, timely information and resources to Chinese communities in California and across the United States — including critical updates on COVID-19 and unemployment benefits — but also to give voice to our community on issues of social justice and racial equity, including affirmative action and opposition to anti-Asian discrimination.
正义补丁（Justice Patch）是一家总部位于旧金山、非盈利、无党派立场的中文新闻网站，致力于为旧金山华裔美国人社区，以及加州更广泛的华人移民社区，提供原创本地新闻报道与评论。
正义补丁由华人权益促进会（Chinese for Affirmative Action，简称 CAA）旗下的中文数字互动团队（Chinese Digital Engagement, CDE）负责运营和管理。CAA 是一家总部位于加州的非盈利组织。我们的团队由华裔记者和媒体从业者领导，并与众多独立中文撰稿人、事实核查员及数据科学家合作。

Justice Patch is committed to providing the Chinese American community in San Francisco, as well as in California — and across the United States — with accurate, timely, original local news coverage and essential resources, including critical information on COVID-19 and unemployment benefits. Through commentary, we also give voice to our community on issues of social justice and racial equity, including affirmative action and opposition to anti-Asian discrimination.
Accuracy and Transparency
Our editorial work follows principles of rigor, objectivity, accuracy, and transparency. Wherever possible, we rely on reliable, publicly verifiable primary sources and authoritative references. Before publication, we verify facts, data, sources, and quotations, and consult relevant experts, scholars, or parties involved in an event when necessary. Whenever possible, our articles disclose our evidence, sources, and verification process so that readers can understand how we arrived at our conclusions.
Corrections Process
If we discover that a published article contains a factual error, a significant omission, or another error affecting the accuracy of our reporting, we will promptly verify the issue and issue a correction.
For substantive errors, we clearly note the correction within the original article and, where appropriate, indicate the date and reason for the correction. We do not remove erroneous information from a published article without noting that a correction has been made.
Readers may contact us at contact@justicepatch.org to report a possible factual error or to request a correction. Upon receiving a correction request, our editorial team independently verifies the relevant information and determines, based on the evidence, whether a correction is warranted. Submitting a correction request does not guarantee that an article will be revised.
We also periodically review previously published fact-checking content and update or annotate it as needed when new information becomes available.

准确性与透明度
我们的编辑工作遵循严谨、客观、准确和透明的原则，并尽可能使用可靠、可公开验证的原始资料和权威来源。我们会在发布前对事实、数据、来源和引用进行核实，并在必要时咨询相关领域的专家、学者或事件当事人。我们的文章会尽可能公开说明证据、来源和核查过程，使读者能够了解我们如何得出结论。
更正流程
如果我们发现已发布的文章存在事实错误、重要遗漏或其他影响报道准确性的问题，我们会及时核实并作出更正。
对于实质性错误，我们会在原文章中明确标注更正内容，并在适当情况下说明更正的日期及原因。我们不会在发现重大错误后删除原有错误信息而不作说明。
读者可通过 contact@justicepatch.org 联系我们，报告可能存在的事实错误或提出更正请求。收到更正请求后，编辑团队会独立核实相关信息，并根据证据决定是否需要修改报道。提出更正请求并不保证文章一定会被修改。
我们也会定期检查已发布的事实核查内容，并在发现需要更新的信息时进行相应更新或注明相关变化。
